UK Fieldcraft, Conservation & Ethical Tips

Welcome to The Wildlife Nomad UK wildlife photography blog, a space dedicated to exploring the natural world through patience, respect, and presence. Here you’ll find practical fieldcraft tips to help you move quietly through landscapes, recognise animal signs, and capture authentic images without disturbing the wildlife you’ve come to see.

This blog shares more than just photographs. Each post offers insight into the craft of ethical wildlife photography, from learning how to track a fox at dawn to setting up trail cameras in wetlands or photographing deer during the autumn rut. Alongside photography tutorials, you’ll also find regular conservation news, highlighting the issues shaping Britain’s wild spaces and the species that depend on them.

Seasonal projects and species spotlights provide inspiration for your own time outdoors, whether you’re documenting birds in winter woodlands or following the signs of otters along rivers in summer. Whatever your level of experience, this blog aims to give you knowledge, guidance, and encouragement to deepen your connection to nature and to tell its stories responsibly.
